Knobby Kneesby LuciemacComment: This is an interesting view and very calming. I like the shape of the silhouetted tree especially. Unfortunately, there is some thin haloing on both sides of the trunk and to a lesser degree at various places in the branches. I suspect that your sharpening was a bit too strong. The far shoreline with soft, muted trees and reflections is particularly appealing. I like this well enough (even with the halos) to give this a 7. |

Trees, Snow & Fogby ladpupmoeComment: I like this image. It takes my eyes right into the center of the image to the back snowline. I wish there was a feature at that point. Maybe a dog or someone coming out of the background. Still, I like it enough to score this with a 7. |

Tangled by JudiComment: I love these trees. They can be found all over the island where I live. You have a nice depth of field, keeping the foreground as sharp as the center of the tree. Something that might make the photo even more interesting would be a person (perhaps a child) walking along the level branch/trunk on the right side at roughly the upper one-third point. That would give my eye somewhere to rest. Still, a fine effort. 7 |

Wave Watcherby RamblinRComment: A very enjoyable image. Nicely executed with a bit of a story revealed in the dog and people in the background. 7 |

Standing Tall above the Glacial Valley by hahn23Comment: This is very well photographed and I suspect many will vote this into a front page finish. My only criticism (very minor at that) is that the tree could benefit from some selective sharpening. It looks to me to be equally sharp with the background, something that I doubt was true when you were on site. Still, I think this photo is a strong contender. 7 |

Alone in the fog by the_rkpComment: Excellent atmosphere, with the bright sky gradually becoming darker and more misty as one looks lower. A very pleasing and calm image. The one criticism I have is what looks to me to be heavy burning on the lower right branches as the atmosphere at that location seems unnaturally darker than nearby atmosphere. Nevertheless, I would give it a ribbon. 8 |

First Light at Cliff's Edgeby Les_FeckComment: I really like the way the fallen trunk frames much of the ocean, including the lone person in the water. I also like your tonal values. They are different from what I often see (and do myself) and quite pleasing - almost like faded film development from the 70's. I would give this a first page finish. 8 |

Sentinelsby SistoComment: I like what I perceive to be a duo-tone treatment in this image. Your selection of aperture is also a pleasing one, giving clarity to the foreground tree and blurring the background well. I would give this a ribbon. 8 |

Raggedby jomariComment: I like the subject matter and the gnarly nature of the trunk and branches. If I had any criticism it would be that the photo seems to have a touch more noise reduction or Lightroom luminance than I generally like. It's just a personal preference of course. I would still give this a front page finish. 8 |
