Swiss' Potatoby andrerussoComment: It's a circle, all right, but I think there are several elements "wrong", in my opinion: (1) focus is on the rear of the photo, but the perspective makes the eye want to wander to the front, (2) The second plate is a distraction, (3) the table cloth is not a particularly appealing color, (4) the coloration/presentation/angle of the food is not particularly appealing.
All in all, I get the feeling this is a snapshot of something on a table, but I feel like a photo of food should include some level of pre-composition: back the shot out to include more table, arrange some attractive elements around the plate (fork, cloth napkin, glass), etc. |

Big Circles and Little Circles and...by chesireComment: Truly, I think this would have been a stunning shot if it was in better focus and/or had some USM. The thumbnail caught my attention, but unfortunately, the larger image reveals the focusing flaws. Great idea, you should work on this one until you perfect it. |

An Eye for an Eyeby TikicharmComment: Whew! Too close for me. Feel like I'm entering Mordor! On the serious side, I'm trying to figure out if I'm looking at something modified using Photoshop "art" filters - the either natural or induced "noise" detracts from the image, IMHO. |

Flower Spinby ty_roniComment: I would normally hate this kind of photo, but this blends fairly well, surprisingly. I kind of like it. It's not dizzying, and the off-center effect is great. 7 |

Got a Light?by Ice-Tea-1983Comment: Took me a full minute to realize what I was looking at. My initial reaction (before I could figure out what it was) was "Wowwwwwwwwwwwww"... very warm and abstract. 8 |

Fantasy Circlesby ninjaComment: Cool takeoff of the flag photos already on DPC. I'm interested to know what your background was. Very abstract and eye catching. 7 |

Heading Due Westby PeltzComment: OK, I think the major problem I have with this photo is that the focal point is obscured by the reflections of the flash and several surrounding objects. If it were a clear sphere, the reflections might prove interesting, but since there's a compass in there, you have 2 major elements (reflections and compass) competeing for attention. |
