I really liked your idea here. The composition is great! Just maybe could have used better lighting or just a little bit of post-processing would have helped. I couldn't quite put my finger on it by just looking at it, so I took your picture and messed with it a little. As it turns out, there was a yellow hue to it that dulled everything. Once that was taken out, the clouds whitened, the dandilion stood out better and the sky brightened into a nice deep blue. I'll keep it for you in case you would like to see what I did. You have a good eye for nice composition...keep up the good work.

Very interesting use of subject placement in this picture. I'm not sure I'm all that crazy about it. Since I'm not sure if I've seen a plant like this, I would like to see more of it. Also, it just seems a bit dark and maybe slightly out of focus. Although, it shows nice depth the way it is, I think the branches, or whatever you call them, could stand out even more and show better detail. I like the colors in the background of what appears to be a very brushy landscape.

Pink Tree

Pink Tree

Oh, wow...all the "busy-ness" of the rest of the photo really distracts from you subject, the flowering tree...the unattractive white house, the telephone lines, the water hydrant and ...is that an overturned shopping cart on the lower right? Plus, the stop sign blocking part of the tree didn't help at all either. I think the white house being in back of the tree and the bluriness blew out the colors of the tree, so the pink color of the flowers got lost. I would try getting much closer to your subject and using the macro setting on your camera, if you have one. Or finding a similar tree in bloom elsewhere with more pleasing surroundings. Those blooming crabapple trees are everywhere. I even have one in my front yard, but it wasn't in bloom yet this week to shoot it. Keep trying...I'd like to see what you do with the next challenge. Just remember to get closer to your subject.

The picture seems pretty dark. The blades or shoot of grass really don't stand out here. Good use of negative space, however with the placement of the grass in the top left. I do believe that it's just the lighting that upsets this photo. Good luck in the challenge

This is my favorite photo out of all of them. This photo is not just a flora shot, but also has meaning. The dandelion has always been the bouquet of all small children at some point or another and this photo really brings a smile. The child in the background is great. I'm not sure about the bulky sunglasses...whether it would have been better without them. The "flower" is well focused, lighting is great, good definition....like I can reach out and accept it. 10+ Good Luck

Even though I don't happen to like this particuliar kind of candy, they made for a nice colorful shot. However, they appear to be a little flat...maybe with a little more adjustment to the color balance, it would bring out the colors a little better. Otherwise, your focus and lighting are great and definately meets the challenge.

The shine and soft focus of what I believe to be a bowl of lemon sour balls made them look wet, gooey and stuck together. Other than that, I really like this shot. Appears to show a mood with the simple use of candy. You had a really good idea in using the "intruder". The border is nice too. It pulls in the yellow color, making the red loner even more out of place.

The color just seems off here....maybe too dark? The chocolate kind of looks like its been out too long and is dried out. Not very appealing. Otherwise, it is a very good idea. I love Hershey bars. Good DOF.

Out of all the "sky" shots, this is the best one, in my opinion. The cloud formation is interesting and well captured in your photo. The mountains and landscape in the foreground give it good dimension. Well done and nicely focused which most other lack. Good luck
