It's a beautiful photo and it might say 'Independence' to all Americans, but being a Dutchie an eagle head is not a symbol of anything, it's nothing else than just an 'eagle head' and therefor to me: it didn't meet the challenge. That's one of the reasons I decided not to vote at all on this challenge.

Nevertheless, congrats with the blue ribbon.

I think you misinterpreted the challenge, because this particular telephone unit is not broken, out of use, disregarded, or anything else mentioned in the challenge description as far as I can see. The challenge didn't say 'compare the old with the new'.

Thank God, these items outlived their "usefulness". I wonder if many voters will see your point of view. Forgotten? NO, not by me, but I think a lot of youngsters need to be reminded. Forgiven? actually no either and the world hasn't learned one bit, has it. I'll rate it a 9.
