Winner!by buck4freeComment: Nice candid moment. It would have been nice to capture him with his hand all the way up in the air. |

Shadow Danceby autoolComment: Great use of light and shadow. A touch more sharpness would have been great for my tastes. A most curious border also. |

Oldtimer by kiwinessComment: Nice portrait. I think the highlights on the nose and in the beard a just a tiny little bit blown out. Great separation from the background though. |

Birds of a feather by JeanComment: Nice shadow. I wonder if you could have somehow modified the angle to show the white feather completely on the black background, with the shadow on the light background. Nevertheless, the tonal transition looks good. No spot editing has got to be frustrating too (I've got a dead pixel of my own to worry about). 7 |

killing time - an artist and a chauffeurby tomzinhoComment: There's something about this composition - the anonymity of the shot and the relaxed urban feel to it - that really works for me. I could just sit here too, and stare at whatever the two main subjects are staring at. I don't think this would have worked nearly as well in colour. 8. |

The source of all of the colour BROWNby MorganComment: The tones are a little flat, and that wire bugs me. Ths shot looks a tiny bit out of focus too. Funny shot though!
The folds of its legs almost make the shape of a mouth, with a long pendulous nose. I think it's smiling at me. 6. |

Mooringby crabappl3Comment: I like how the ropes and the side of the boat both draw the eye in from the bottom of the picture, towards the ladder, which is wonderfully sharp. The blue toning also looks great here. I think it's a little on the busy side, however. A boating enthusiast may disagree with me though :) |

Black & white H2Oby ladpupmoeComment: An interesting take on the now well-used refraction trick. The whites aren't quite white though, unless by the title you just mean the shot has been converted to greyscale. I find the corrugations in the glass detract from the shot, as they make the straw look chewed (the scoop on the straw doesn't help either, IMO). The light shadow to the left of the glass disturbs the symmetry too. I think the composition is pretty good otherwise, however. Maybe with some level adjustments and a darker piece of black cardboard, it would be more punchy. Now that I look at it, you can see the cardboard coming up a bit at the bottom of the shot. |
