I am not sure if I really have a clue here but what I see that bothers me is the background. I like shots like these and I usually get hammered all the time when I submit one. The image has a "not real look" due to the color of the background. That and the section above the the larger dogs back that seems out of place to me. Regardless of how it scored, it is a good capture.

Focus is the main issue here. In reference to content it may have been better if the train was closer to you. Not really sure if you could have pulled off a clear image.

There is a focus issue here. The rocks are the only thing that comes close to being in focus. It may have come out better if the first rail road tie was in focus rather then the rocks.
