Wee Shackby RolandBComment: I am new here and relatively so to serious photography; so, I will offer only my response, not a critique.
The photo deserves top marks for its clarity, coloration and general composition. Were it not for a well manicured lawn I would be greatly taken it. I envision abandoned shacks discovered standing near still water beautifully preserved. Alas, this does it visually, but for me, it a let down conceptually.
But, man oh man in that reflection perfect or what?! Very inspiring photo and a craft lesson I hope to learn. |

I like it. It is somewhat diluted by the recent posting of the superb ballooner photo still imprinted on my minds eye. But in its own capacity, the depth and coloring are inviting and sharp. I have attempted similar photos, albeit without editing (hmmm....) and am similarly confounded by the loss of detail in the parasails. It seems one must start with an incredibly bright day to get the clarity and then add the ambiance of this work to get stunning. But, I am impressed. Well done. |

I love the depth of this photo and the coloring conveys and even sense of forebode. There does seem to be a lack of clarity in the forward field that may be over compensated for, so as to seem unreal, rather then the surreal I would personally seek. Very well done in most coveyances. |

The image of the man firing the gun is exceptional. I am put off by the lack of fire-power in the flash. There is something lacking in the explosiveness I would expect to be conveyed. Is it an edit? Perhaps a darker setting would have made the flash more brilliant. I would also expect to see some lighting effect on the face of the shooter or a puff of smoke or something from the barrel. Of course, I don't shoot these guns, but my Glock strikes me as more lethal then the photo of this shooting should imply. |
