Very nice. Old-time-y charm here. nice color tones. I'd have cropped down from the top by about 1/4 of the hieght, to remove dead space, and ensure the eye is sent directly to the boy, not the muck highlights at the top. But still very nice, and I'm sure a family keeper. 7 from me.

nice idea. The lead grey sky is very nice. If I could offer a suggestion, I would crop in from the right by about 1/3 of the shot - to just afgter the third fence post. There is too much OOF foreground in my opinion. A 6, as it is.

Humm - I'm sure you've heard this already, but this shot (while being very nice) does not really fit in a backlighting challenge. In a free study, I'd give this a 7 or 8. In this challenge - a 6 just because it's such a good shot.

Composition is nice, but slightly OOF. Colors could use a bump too, especially the brown at the top of the shot. It might be better with that brown area cropped right off, toi just below the big rock. Not sure that your focus would allow that much cropping however. 5 from me, and keep at it. You have a good eye - just need to work on the technicals (same as me...)
