Tomes from yesteryearby joansuzyComment: I love the texture of the old book bindings. I like the fac that there is strong directional light. But the shiny plastic covers ruin the photo in at least two related ways. First, I want to see the texture of the covers, but I cannot, Second, I don't want to be looking at shiny reflections. It's not clear to me whether there is a way to light this without glare. If not, perhaps another subject would be better. |

Ocean Linesby max90034Comment: The shell is completely gorgeous. It's perfectly lit and exposed. There's a jewel-like quality to the piece. While I cannot think of a better treatment, the great expanses of black seem, welll, just a bit too expansive. |

Abandonedby gthbComment: Nicely observed and realized. Great colors. |

Ridge Linesby pmichaudComment: I like the composition. The photo seems a little less than sharp to me - probably it's haze. And I wonder if there might have been a little more detail to be seen in areas near the bottom of the photo. Finally, I wonder whether color really adds anything here - would it be better in B&W? |

outlineby BeetleComment: Kudos on doing an outrageous experiment. I'm afraid I'm not fond of the results. I think it has to do with the fact that the photo makes me think I should be able to see the model's face but I really cannot. Or maybe it's just that these particular colors on the skin seem too unnatural. |

At the end of the day...........by tolovemoonComment: This seems cluttered and confusing to me. It's rarely a good idea to try to photograph things that are unlit once the sun is below the horizon unless they are to be silhouettes. In this case, the way the chain and the fence are in the shadows creates a sense of confusion - the seats appear to be hanging in midair without support; but unlike 'how did they do that?' photos, there's not much payoff when you figure out the photo.
I do like the way the curve of the seats mirrors the curve in the top of the fence. And the sky does create a serene setting. |

"20"by jas0420Comment: An interesting take. I happen to loathe the combination of yellow and the background color (is this lilac or puce?) |
