just a little place for the booksby JPRComment: I've seen a lot of good architectural photos at this site, but this one beats them all; spectactular. Placement of the shadowy figure in the lower right corner has transformed a good photo into a great one. Bravo. |

...is a tricycle?by XileboComment: There's a profound otherworldy quality to this photo. The lighting is incredibly crisp. The expressions are very aware and adult-like. There is an interesting conversation taking place just with glances and turned heads. Very nice |

I r r e v e r s i b l eby glad2badadComment: I love the political statement made by the framing. But I find the composition a little cluttered; I wonder if B&W might make the sign feel a little more shadowy and sinister - in the way I think you mean it to be? |

Jewlsby rocklova72Comment: The harsh, directional lighting has done a great disservice to this photo. The photo is also badly served by the organization of the objects, IMO. I find these flaws collectively, make the photo very difficult to look at. |

Affluence?by maxlevayComment: Three beans in a skillet ... wasn't that an early sixties song that was popular on Muzak? Quite droll, I like it. |

Passing Throughby RKTComment: Sometimes I understand why photos do well or poorly at DPC. Frequently my tastes are very different from those of the crowd here. This is a perfect example. I really love this photo. It captures an essential tranquil quality of the woodland garden that is very rarely captured well. I believe this photo deserved to score much better; but whatever the score, thanks for sharing it. It really is quite beautiful. |

Beneath the arenaby dr3amzComment: Super lighting and texture I love how the curvature of the space points to a spot outside the photo, but the stone walls hold the eyes within. |

Spout it outby jmleliiComment: Nice repeated elements, though I find the right hand side a little cluttered. As I imagine cropping more and more of the photo from the right, I get to two or three fountains in the forground and the photo begins to feel uncluttered to me. On the other hand I am on the extreme fringe of advocating for simplicity in photo composition at this site.
If this is at University of Texas, I tried my hand with this fountain some years ago and found my own results failed to capture what I experienced being there. |
