Even laurel knows spring is coming!by hajekaComment: Commenting as part of my Team Suck duties... .
Yet another Team Suck member, treated too harshly by the voters, I feel. That said, I've found that my simple, minimalist images are very hit and miss, more miss than hit actually. I like the colour and the detail. Shallow DOF is a bit distracting though (IMHO). Composition works well for me. Think the voters were a bit harsh in this instance. |

Ouchby KelliComment: Commenting as part of my Team Suck duties...
I have to say that I cannot even begin to comprehend how this image didn't finish MUCH higher. Great colour, composition, detail, use of shallow DOF (I love the bokeh) ... all excellent. Perhaps a tad soft at the end of the branch, but no way deserving of the punishment it got from voters. I think your title describes your treatment from the voters... "Ouch" indeed. :( |

Love the border... think I might use something like that on my photos ;)
Wonderful colour and detail, and I like the wallpaper pattern feel of the composition. |

Sorry Peter, but all that comes to me is "I don't get it"... and it's not like others that I didn't get in that they still sparked some interest... I wanted to get them, they kept me looking, intrigued, that the photographer saw something that I didn't... they had something there to hook me... whereas this lacks that hook. Sorry to be so harsh. Just my opinion and worth about as much as you've paid me for it. :) |

From The Ground Upby Luci11eComment: Commenting as part of my Team Suck duties...
I think the last four commenters have said it all, and said it well. "Cluttered" and "undramatic". A different angle, or a different approach could have worked, or if you'd included a point of interest to compliment the branch... a person or animal. it's not a bad image, not by any definition, it's just not interesting enough, especially for the DPC crowd. They're tough! |

What a great image. Don't feel I gave this enough of a chance when voting... looking at it now, I'm seeing a lot that I don't remember seeing before. Powerful. Beautiful. I can only apologise for not giving it the time, and score it deserves... i.e. should have been up there with my other favourites. |

Look up!by MelethiaComment: Commenting as part of my Team Suck duties...
Nice detail and tones/contrast... While it's a "rather literal interpretation" it's not conventional. No surprise there though... one of the reasons we love you so. I find this image a bit unbalanced, personally... it feels top heavy and makes me feel like I've had too much to drink and laying on the grass in the park waiting for the world to stop spinning. :) |

Metro Bank, Paxton St. Branchby NikonJebComment: Commenting as part of my Team Suck duties...
Nice take on the challenge, opting for the bank branch option, which was under represented in the challenge I feel. Great colours, detail and composition, but I feel it may have faired better with the voters if there was a human element within. |

Nice image. Probably suffered because the squirrel is lost a little in the bark behind it (not uncommon for a creature to try to hide)... Great detail and nicely composed IMHO and deserved a bit more love from the voters. |
