Hoh Lake Mist.jpgby charliebakerComment: Another nice fog shot. Is it a little tilted? The trees look straight, but the water surface looks like it's leaning a bit counter clockwise. I like this nearly as much as the reflection image in this series - there's a palpable depth that helps me remember what it was like being there myself. |

Hoh Valley.jpgby charliebakerComment: This is such an amazing place. I'm so happy that you got to be in some decent weather so you could catch views like this! |

Contemplation.jpgby charliebakerComment: What a wonderful view! I've got a weakness for images of fog lifting, setting, and just generally hanging around above the surface of the earth. This one is spectacular because of many things, but what stands out is the clarity of the water and the perfect mirror reflection. |

I think I spotted him when I went birdwatchingby GuGiComment: Gugi, I think you really need more than just two comments on this shot! At first, I thought the guy was a Ken doll, not a real person. Too bad about the shadows on his face, but probably wasn't the best opportunity to use fill flash. I love, love, love his black & white feathers! (not so crazy about the pink ones, unless he had all pink feathers - but that's neither here nor there). When I first saw this, I think my mind was set on that Steve was at some place - so I didn't really make the connection to the entry, being as how my head was stuck in landscapes. Now I see that the idea is that Steve is partying, which I think (now) is a great idea! It's a fun take on the challenge. I didn't score this very high to be honest. If the detail in the man had been as strong as it is in the clouds, it would've boosted my score. Hope you don't mind my comments. You know you're one of my favorite photographers in the whole world. |

Half there, half notby TNCameronComment: Wow! What a wonderful ghostly image there in the lower left. The crack in the wall and the other marks are very, very nice! |

ruralityby rhipsterComment: Nice composition. The noise in the sky adds to the depth for me. This is definitely one of those kinds of images that requires more than a two second glance. The more I look at it, the more depth (nearly 3D) I see. |

Trianglesby aznymComment: Beautiful! I like the duotone treatment a lot. This is a perfect example of an image without a subject that is still an extremely appealing image. The lighting is gorgeous, too - I like the darkness of it. |

Worth a Thousand Wordsby mattforbesComment: What a cutie! I really like the angle of the grass. I suppose you may get a bunch of "doesn't meet the challenge" low scores, since this very sweet child is clearly a subject. I think this is a wonderful shot, however. My personal dnmc score only drops the score one point. |

Marsh Grassby PoobaComment: Even though I think I understand what you're going for here, for me the strength of the patterns & colors in the water compete too much with the vertical lines and green/red of the grass. |

s i t t i n g - a l o n e . . .by vikasComment: Such a dreamy, zen-like image. Love how the fog floats above the water - I always have loved this, and you've done a superb job of portraying it. |
