Your entry fits the challenge perfectly in my opinion. If the background had been non-white, I would've given it a 10.

Also, I just looked at your profile page - and boy, I'm shocked that you only have one ribbon so far. I would make a bet with anyone that if you continue entering challenges in 2005, at least one of your resolutions will come true! Great job and keep going, please.

It's a nice shot - I like the depth and then the concentrated focus on the one piece. Lighting is also good. I made the following comment in a couple other comments, and hope you don't mind - but I do with there was a hand or something in your entry to show a person doing something to pass the time.

Haha, this is very funny. I can see the impatience in the model's very rigid pose! I like how my eye is drawn to the guy's face and then up to the clock. Wish the light wasn't quite so bright, though. The starkness of this is good.

I'm giving this a 9 - if the wrist could've been as still-looking as the guitar, it would be a 10 from me. I love how the thumb looks against the perfectly still guitar. (is it a guitar - hope I'm not naming the wrong instrument!)

I love, love, love pictures of old hands, especially when they are doing something like here in your entry. I really wish that levels or something were applied (it's advanced editing, so I think that's okay) to make her hands not so washed out. For example, there's a reflection on the pinky finger that I think could be taken away with a dose of levels. I think the composition is good and you've definitely met the challenge.

This is beautiful - almost 3D. The mountains, blue sky, and bench almost jump out of the screen. I just wrote in another comment that I'd like to see a real person in their entry, but in yours, it's so easy to imagine a real person sitting on that bench that I'm can't rightfully take anything away from the score for not having a person. (I learned something about the way I look at these images just now - cool!)

Nice composition. I like the perspective, but at the same time, the line of horizon and the lines in the boardwalk are tricky because they're not straight with respect to the image boundaries. The colors are great.
