Monicaby AlexysComment: A nice use of her hair to provide shape and framing. Such a close up demands more perfection though and I'd really like to remove those stray hairs on her face. It also feels as though she is squinting against bright light, and I'd like to see her eye opened to a more natural extent. Great choice to go black and white with a touch of toming (though it appears a touch too green for my tastes). |

J.A., Contractorby jjbeguinComment: I really like your composition here. The hand in the front with the angled face further back - it's unusual and quirky and works very well. I also like the low-key nature of this image, black on black on black. It's a beautiful portrait of the individual and a great image. |

Little Princessby SonifoComment: What a lovely smile - you've captured a beautiful expression there - she looks wise and happy beyond her years. A lovely use of the boa to soften the surroundings and provide contrast to the harder colour/ lines of the hat. Lighting seems a touch harsh on her cheek but otherwise this is lovely. |

Contemplating parallel linesby lwkimagesComment: I usually like clean white or black backgrounds but something about the white background here doesn't feel quite right. Though it's clearly posed I like the way this shows contemplation by using a non-formal pose. |

Attitude is Everythingby justineComment: That hat provides a great frame as well as a wonderful sweeping S curve. The expression is nicely captured and clear for anyone to read... a look that conveys a warning... Black and white works well. |

Amature Hucksterby flip89Comment: Nice choice to use limited lighting... a portrait that really conveys the photographer's tendency to stay in the shadows rather than in front of the camera. |

A Tough Lifeby heidaComment: I like this portrait. The toning works well with the content though it's a touch too pink for my preference. The textured background really supports his weary expression. Although a commonly expressed "rule" of portraiture is to achieve eye contact I think this image works superbly without it. I like the detail added by the pattern of his shirt. |

It`s rainingby Geo_GriffinComment: Nice capture of a sweet moment. Lighting just a touch harsh on her nose and cheek. Detail is great - in her hair, cardigan and skin. |

Brandonby nsoroma79Comment: Nice pose and composition. Personally not keen on the harsh lighting nor the selective desaturation. |

Portrait Photographerby ccraftComment: The two areas of background at each side add nothing to the image and I think portrait orientation would have created a stronger composition. An interesting image that tells a little about the subject. |
