The Lion Sleepeth...by doctornickComment: Stunning, very evocative of safari memories since these magnificent creatures really do sleep so much of the time don't they? Beautifully composed, good light, nice level of detail in cat and branch. Just lovely. |

The Blue Windowby aKiwiComment: Wonderfully vibrant in colour and in shapes. Feels a little lacking in texture though. Nice composition, nice use of space. 7 (//www.dpchallenge.com/forum.php?action=read&FORUM_THREAD_ID=129433) |

"Back" Cover Girlby DougPazComment: I really love the creative idea in this image - it works really well. Especially the way in which the eyebrows are so perfectly aligned.
What lets it down for me is the background. I'd prefer a single background, either a taller chair back or some way of ensuring continuity. As it is I find the lines of the surface behind the chair visually unappealing. 7 (//www.dpchallenge.com/forum.php?action=read&FORUM_THREAD_ID=129433) |

A Study in Colorby HRoxasComment: Technically, a beautifully taken image. Lighting - excellent, colours - excellent, composition - excellent. The only reason it isn't scoring higher is that it doesn't reach me on any emotional level. It's not an image I would want to come back to and view again and again and that's down to lack of interest in the subject. 7 (//www.dpchallenge.com/forum.php?action=read&FORUM_THREAD_ID=129433) |

Haunting Absenceby tyt2000Comment: I like the mood conveyed by this image. The empty chair is quite subtle within the overall image. It also works well to counter the symmetry of the windows. Focus feels soft to me. 7 (//www.dpchallenge.com/forum.php?action=read&FORUM_THREAD_ID=129433) |

Golden Lightby JPRComment: That is certainly a beautiful golden light and it really does bring out the fur beautifully. I like the pose of the baby within the mother's lap. I'd prefer to see some more detail in the eyes though. 7 (//www.dpchallenge.com/forum.php?action=read&FORUM_THREAD_ID=129433) |

The Ruinby e301Comment: I like the content a lot, it has a wonderful texture to it. The rich colour of the grass and the moody sky complement the abandoned nature of the main subject too. It feels very soft in focus to me though, which I'm not so keen on. 7 (//www.dpchallenge.com/forum.php?action=read&FORUM_THREAD_ID=129433) |

The Beaconby alanfreedComment: I like the way this makes me think of holidays by the sea and of a little private hideaway. Nice choice to make the sand so prominent. 7 (//www.dpchallenge.com/forum.php?action=read&FORUM_THREAD_ID=129433) |

Munising Fallsby pitsamanComment: This image has grown on me each as I've viewed it again and again during voting. I think it's the composition that's particularly strong - the inclusion of just the right amount of foliage at left and grass and tree at the right creates a strong composition. The detail is really nice. 8 |
