The post-processing to B/W in the surround is so evident here that it made the photo feel less candid to me. Incidentally, in doing such selective desaturation, pay carefull ateention to the transitions. sme grass to her left and udner the unbrella is still green, and this hurts.

Even had this been all color or all B/W, it is less succesful than many as a candid to me because there's no real emotional content; hands and faces carry most of the weight for that, and neither is evifdent in this image. This is a personal aesthetic bias; others may disagree.

Fascinating lighting. Assuming you didn't have some serious flash wotking here, one has to presume fill light bouncing from a building's glass front back into the subjects. The combination of strong backlight with intense fill tends to make this "feel" more posed than candid, but it's a nice shot regardless.

A lot tolike here, but too much subject/ground confusion. If you'd shot thsi wide-open, so the BG were much softer, it would work better I think.

Amusing, but it doesn't stand out for me as particularly effective.

Doesn't feellike a "candid" to me; it's a shot of a clown in a parade. The background faces would be candids, but they're out of focus. Had you made this exact same shot with the clown out of focus and the faces sharp, you'd have a memorable candid, I think.

Feels like it needs for the boardwalk planks to be horizontal, some ccw rotation. The area to the left is not doing a thing; may as wellc rop back to more normal proportions. Nice B/W tonal range.

Quite a shot, but I hate the window/hat conflict and the extreme post-processing takes it out of the reality zone where i personally expect to find a "candid" in residence.

when I crop this as a horizontal, eliminating the price tag and the out-of-focus tiedown, it snaps a whole lot better. Except for the distracting foreground, this one is very nice indeed.

such a nice shot, at core. Oversharpened by a great deal, to the point of producing a halo between figure and ground. the slightly off-center cropping isn't working for me; all that space on the right is not helping the picture. I wish it were a bit more centered, and especially that I could see all of the basket.
