I like it too. What does it mean, 'KROKNALEN'? My guess is laundromat. Or maybe Ice Creams. (Bet it doesn't mean 'Hardware", does it?) Either way, it's a very interesting photograph, nice composition and remarkably sharp shadow. I see no reason to prefer a different crop; it looks striking just as it is.

Well Steve, it was pretty good, but if you'd just included a yellow rubber ducky, a wooden puppet, a chess board and a brutally over-processed sky, this would have been perfect. Top ten for sure.

77th place! When you look at most of the images that finished ahead of you, I guess you'll consider jumping down those stairs yourself. Either that or you'll die laughing and just fall down. Hope you've learned your lesson ...you KNOW you should have gone with the wiggly car tail lights and the whirling sparklers!

Well, I love the simple elegance of the composition. It's harmonious and balanced, in an asymmetrical kind of way. I also don't mind that the image is so soft; I think that's appropriate to the character of the scene (and of course to this challenge). I'm afraid I don't like the hand ... it seems pointless to me and robs the scene of some of its charm. I suppose you were concerned that without a blindingly obvious time exposure gimmick, DPC commentators would attack you for "not meeting challenge". Alas, you're probably right. 6

Unusual and interesting. You'll probably be criticised for this lovely, quiet image ... people will be looking for more primitive expressions of long exposure (streaky car lights and so forth). But I hope I'm wrong and that this well composed and absorbing night shot is not overlooked. 7

Beautiful. You won't like this, but I would like your photograph even more if the rock was not there. The breaking wave is so beautifully captured, with a time exposure perfectly judged for the purpose, that it deserves the entire stage to itself. 7

Best firework shot I've seen, but your image has many other interesting qualities as well. The lights of the city, especially along the waterfront (well, the bottom; I think it's a waterfront) are beautiful. And the sky is just awesome. Also, the composition is very good, as of course is the in-camera and post-camera execution. A memorable photograph. 7

Striking shot. And very interesting, too. I love the three stages of blur ... the people are moving fastest and so blur the most, then there's the upper part of the structure with "medium" blur, and finally the relatively stationary pedestal part with minimal blur. Kepler's Law of Carnival Motion. 7

There's just enough time exposure effect on the water, especially around the central rock and the post just offshore of the rock, to achieve your goal of animating the ocean surface. The composition is also effective and appealing. 7

This is my clear favourite, and my only 10. The pure graphic quality of it is stunning. I like the fact that the subject is descending (escalator? No, probably stairs?). The composition, the exposure and the processing are all perfect. But the absolute winner for me, the real knockout blow, is the totally stationary hand! That's brilliant, and for me it makes the entire image revolve about that point, as if the hand is anchored in another dimension. Bravo!
