I've looked at this several times, and for quite an extended few moments each time. I can't quite decide if it's naturally-lying rocks and fog (which I'd love), or a breakwater made of rocks with water vaporized by an extended exposure (which I'd tolerate). Alas, I think it may be the latter, but that doesn't stop it from being really very beautiful.

Such a startling sight, snugged in alongside all this savage geometry. There even appears (as your title suggests) to be a cutout for the nose. Many will be sentimental about this, but the animal is in quite good condition; just cold. It's a good and unusual photograph.

Yes. Some people can do this accidentally, and get away with it (of course, most of them would throw it away).
But you did it deliberately. And luckily for us, you didn't throw it away. And it's very good.

The near echo of the body positions of these two somehow elevates this superficially humdrum landscape into something else. It's like a painting by a painter whose name I can't remember at the moment. But he's very good. Or she is.

The odd composition, where everything is shoved to the margins, is strangely effective as well.

It's a bit 'glowing', here and there, but I don't care about that. I like this a lot.

This is weirdly compelling. He appears to be dancing in the dust. Makes no sense, and all the better for that too. Very nice, entertaining photograph.
