I've got the bluesby dahkotaComment: Originally posted by dahkota: Makes me think I should really just stay at home and shoot things in my lightbox for every challenge. ;) |
Nah...don't want to do that. You'd get bored! ;^)
Congrats on a fantastic finish with this entry. Most people don't realize how much texture and character a blueberry can have. You've captured the hidden beauty of this simple fruit, and in a hurry as well. Showoff! He-he. Well, I hope you at least had to agonize over the crop.
Hey. When did you get the 30D? Last time I saw you you were carrying the Rebel.
Smile and keep having fun!

Hills and Valleysby arnitComment: This is one time when having no clouds would have been better. Good eye to see this. I think it fits the challenge wonderfully! A small bump in contrast may help in showing the layers a little more distinctly. Good luck in the challenge. |

Blood Featherby landcameraComment: This works. Simple and clean. Maybe too simple? ;^) You did a nice job with the angle and the exposure for this. Good luck. |

Leafy linesby StephigComment: Nice use of natural lines. I like the tone and lighting you've used. Would be better if the DOF was a little deeper to bring the lines in back into focus. Good luck in the challenge. |

a-line-mentby IreneMComment: This should do well. Interesting composition, clean and isolated subject content. Congrats in advance on your fine score. ;^) |

Painted Ladyby sherpetComment: Hi Sherryl. Quite the distinctive plant you have there. I wonder how many people are now recoginizing you for this type of image? Kind of takes away from anonymous voting a little. Oh well, ride it out while you can. Certainly is a beautiful subject to photograph and when placed in the right challenge is scoring well for you. |

Lines of vibrationby stphqComment: Most of the time I see guitar shots going the opposite direction, down the neck. Your approach is fresh. The DOF is hurting this a little, as it's hard to see much in focus. I'm not saying that some of it isn't in focus, just a large portion is not. Guessing by the light and reflections, you were near a window for light? Seems a bit strong on the left side of your photo. Did you consider trimming about 1/3 off the left side of this? Would have given more impact to the lines portion of this. All of this is obviously, JMO. ;^) Good luck in the challenge. |

Inching Alongby soupComment: Yep. Ribbon material here for sure! Clean, simple, good use of DOF to add another dimension to the image. The green color pop really jumps out. Congrats in advance. ;^) |

Old Fredericksburg Churchby CamComment: Now I'm going to have to look for this! ;^) Unless, of course, you mean Fredericksburg, Texas...I'm assuming Virginia. Good luck neighbor!
Concerning the image, there are certainly lines to use. Did you consider closing the right door enough to block that back window (given permission to do do)? I think that window is distracting a little. Doors closed maybe? A touch more contrast could liven up the exterior wall some. Just some thoughts, and all JMO. |

All that shimmersby MaverickComment: Nice catch. I love seeing the light coming thru the trees and fog (or smoke). Good luck in the challenge. |
