Caught in Flightby 2mccsComment: Wow. You even captured the patterns in the wings. Nicely done. Still feels a little bit soft, and a little noisy. An interesting crop, makes me wonder what the rest of that hint you've left in the bottom left is? ;^) This was advanced...could have cloned that little piece out. Just a thought. Good luck in the challenge. |

Liquid Crystalby cislanderComment: That's a good title for this water fountain shot. You've stopped the motion os the water and it's nice and crisp. The thing that's going to hold this back is simply subject matter. Nothing personal, but there's not really anything "exciting" about this image. I hope you got the "not personal" part. ;^) Best of luck to you in the challenge. |

Near Collision On The Runwayby SherwinJamesComment: Nice pan shot. You've nearly pulled it off without any blur, just a little bit of motion blur in the wings. I really like the feet and tail position of the back goose. Minor bit of noise/grain, most evident in the foreground blue. Good job leaving a little breathing room in front of the geese for them to "move into". If this was tack sharp I think it would rise to the top. As is, you'll still do pretty well with it. Good luck in the challenge. |

I'm Outta Here!by KenComment: I like the way you've composed this with the bee being positioned in the frame as it is. Title works well. Exposure on the flower and the bee is good. Image overall feels a little soft. A slightly faster shutter speed would have totally froze (stopped motion) of the wings on the bee. Overall, a nice image. Good luck in the challenge. |

bowled overby IreneMComment: I see you...well, kind of. ;^) This is a creative take on the challenge. Nice rich tone in the chess piece. Could be my monitor, but the white background looks pixelated and splotchy. Almost wish I could see the rest of the reflection in the glass. You know what would have worked really well here is a black background where the tabletop and background could have blended together more and eliminated that line where they meet at the table edge. Just a thought. Best of luck to you in the challenge. |

Scissor Kickby AlexSaberiComment: This is a cool move to observe, even better to photograph! ;^) Tough lighting situation here. The sun is a little blown out but I don't see much choice without some supplemental lighting to use on the soccer player from this angle. You've stopped the motion pretty well. The more I think about it the more I wish the player was exposed (lit) a little more. How about fill-flash with the EV set to -1.7 or so? Just a thought. Cool pic overall. Good luck in the challenge. |

killer "B"by gocComment: Almost looks like it's sitting on a piece of glass. I'm not saying it is, but it's so still...good job on stopping the motion. Only problems I see with this are the subject (it's a bit static, nothing else going on - so you have to be a bee lover to really like it), it looks a little over-sharpened, and the subject is centered (not always terrible, but there are those that are going to call you on it). All of this is JMO of course. ;^) Good luck in the challenge. |

Lickby PixelstateComment: Cat lovers will be all over this one! ;^) Myself included. Great detail and I like your choice to go B/W tone. How in the world did you get this shot anyway? Just wait? After feeding? Hmmm. Well, I hope this does well for you. No, it's not as high tech or as fancy as some of the light bulb or splash shots, but it's fun...so good luck. |

Water Spray @ 1/8000th of a Secondby hyperfocalComment: This is kind of cool. Amazing how many particles there are in that spray when you get this kind of detail. Well captured. Simple, fun, sharp, well lit...hmmm, should do ok with this. ;^) Good luck. |

Holy %*&!by MattOComment: The combination of title and facial expressions brought a smile to my face. Thanks for that. ;^) This is fun to look at and you've certainly stopped the motion in an acceptable fashion. I almost wish this was a little tighter in composition but then you would lose the context of the place and situation. Perhaps some light gaussian blur to the left and right of the chute would have helped some? Just a thought. Best of luck to you in the challenge. |
