Candy Spotsby ThaiComment: Maybe it's the lighting, but this seems flat. The subject is "ok", but not anything really exciting to look at. JMO of course. Best of luck to you in the challenge. |

Ray of Lightsby terjeComment: Hmmm. Trying to decide if I like this for 'Spots' or not. Drops rhymes with Spots I guess - let me try that and see how it feels. "Spots of water"...guess it's ok. :D It's an interesting photo, fun to look at. May be slightly over sharpened. Good luck in the challenge. |

Chameleonby fencekickerComment: This is clever. I like it overall, but the major thing holding it back for me is her eyes. They're not sharply focused and the natural coloring in the corners, etc... really stand out against the white makeup. Nothing personal, but it looks a little creepy that way. |

The Quintessential Cowby SammieComment: Wonderful control of lighting, exposure, and DOF. BTW, that's one plump cow! :D Good luck in the challenge. |

Novemberby notesinstonesComment: Nice peaceful scene that displays well in B/W. Slightly oversharpened, but other than that I like the layout and overall feel of this photo. Well done. Good luck in the challenge. |

The window and the hillby KHoltComment: Very interesting POV. You've placed yourself in a great spot for this photo, and it's well suited to this challenge. Could be this work monitor, but this photo is coming off a little flat, like it could use just a tad more contrast. Most noticably in the foreground bricks. Might want to bump the black point up a little also. All JMO of course. Good luck in the challenge. |

Gateway to Eternityby hihosilverComment: Photo's from this location (or similar) are always fun to look at. The natural frame obviously works quite well. The details are very good - sharp, well focused. The sky is perfect! Should do well with this. Good luck. |

Mischievousby RockBruiseComment: Very well titled. :D The soft focus works fine overall, but I do wish that her eyes were sharper. Overall, nicely done. Good luck in the challenge. |

Afternoon Thunderstormsby JuliBocComment: You just have to love that sky! :D I see that forming up and can't wait to grab my camera. Good job on controlling the whites and not blowing them out. The location you've taken this shot lends itself well to the overall feel and composition of this image. You can "feel" the breeze gusting on the water. The pier is abandoned (mostly) which aids in the "get out of here" mentally most people take with approaching storms (photographer's excluded of course). Then last, but not least, you have the interesting lines the pier adds, although as a leading line it keeps the viewer in the lower area of the photo and is minimal in helpful impact. There's probably much more that could be said about this photograph and the way it's put together. Could be a fun one to post to the forums after the challenge is over. :D Best of luck to you in the challenge. |
