Ok, I give upby abrantonComment: Cute, too bad about the "red-eye", but still cute and a unique concept for the challenge. The backdrop color works well and you've positioned your subjects in a pleasing manner within the composition. Best of luck to you in the challenge. |

Star Spotsby sherpetComment: Wow! You spent some time putting this together, that is if those candies had any kind of labels on them. :D This should go over well with the voters that like that bright, in your face, stock type photo. I think it's quite clever personally. Yes, a little bright, but it's still fun. Good luck. |

Fun With Christmas Lightsby SquishyBComment: Hey, those are swirls, not spots. Mostly kidding. Certainly a unique approach to the challenge. Good luck with this abstract entry. |

A Tree's Natural Spotsby AlainComment: That birch bark looks like a geological map. :D Good eye to see this as I think it fits the challenge quite naturally (pun intended). You may have been nervous about blowing out the whites, but I think you could have pushed the white point up just a tad yet. Otherwise, well done. Good luck in the challenge. |

D Persian Caviarby emilarabComment: Cute. :D You should have worked a little harder (aperture choice, distance from subject, etc...) to get the front edge of that bread in focus, especially the 'D' in the letters. The background could stand to be a little cleaner also. Sometimes it's the little details that will hold your score back. All JMO of course. Good luck in the challenge. |

Umpqua Lighthouse HDRby talmyComment: I need (want) a wide-angle lens! :/ This shot came out very nice. Very dramatic sky that works well with the lighthouse. HDR really did justice to this as well, plus you kept it rather light handed and didn't overdo it. Bummer about what they've had to put in place at the base of the lighthouse (to protect it I assume) - the chainlink fence is an eyesore.
Anyway, smile and keep having fun! :D |

Spotted Laughter by JeniYComment: Nice, crisp portrait shot here. The reflection in the glasses is a bit distracting. Makes the viewer focus there to figure out what is in the reflection rather than taking in the whole image for what it is. JMO of course. Good luck in the challenge. |

Introspectionby alfrescoComment: Cool photo. Looks like something got lost in post-processing as this animal almost looks unreal in some places (interior of nose next to the eye, the outside left fur on the neck, and the white on the chest). Perhaps it's natural that way? The fur on the forelegs looks natural. Hmmm. I like how you've filled the frame with the animal. Good luck in the challenge. |
