Nice color. I'm not sure what is going on in that glass, whether the texture is coming from the glass or what is inside the glass, but I like it. I love the colors in the apple. I'm not sure if the "fuzzy white tail" thing adds to the image or not. For me it seems a bit distracting....but that's just me. Overall, this is a nice shot. <7>

Apple in green

Apple in green

This picture reminds me of the ol' Kodak books that used to describe how red and green filters worked, except this apple isn't red, it's as green as the leaves. Those leaves are all so perfect. Not a hint of decay anywhere. Are they real? This is an interesting shot which has held my attention, as I study the textures and the lighting, and shadows. This single-colored image is quite stunning and should do well. <8>

This is a nice image, but I think it would have benefitted greatly from a dark red or even a black background, and a reflector on the left side. I am personally not a fan of white backgrounds, and am not holding that against your image, it's just my personal preference. I like the idea. I love the heart shape. I like how you have recreated the apple after slicing it. Lighting seems a little harsh on the right, as details in the whites of the apple seem to be lost on the right side. <6>

I see two yellows and three reds...I thought you said only one does not belong. Nice image. Nice idea. I do kinda feel like I'm sliding down a hill with image. There are a lot of different textures going on in this image, from the fruit to the wood to the corn leaf and pine cone. Ohhhh....I get it....it's the pine cone that doesn't belong. J/K of course. <6>

I really enjoy these types of shots where people have concentrated on something other than the apple as a whole. This is stunning, and it's only a silly stem. Great focus, and nice DOF. I would love to see this image on a black background. The red is not bad, but I can see this litterally jumping off the page with a black background. <7>

This is a very nice approach to this challenge. Much like the apple blossoms, the apple seeds are an important part of the apple. Did you know they are posionous? I find this image interesting, due to the lighting. This looks trans-lucent. I like the detail in the seed and the varying tones of color throughout the apple. I hope people take a longer look at this image, and dont skip over it quickly, as there are some very wonderful things gong on here. <8>

There are some great colors going on in this image. This back lighting technique really makes the vase stand out nicely, but tends to draw the eye away from the apples which are mostly in the shadows. I do like the water droplets on the apples, which add texture and points of light, however, the vase still remains the dominate feature in this image, to me. <6>

Nice image, with some nice qualities, including some different textures, nice skin tones, excellent lighting, and my favorite background... It is, however, lacking the interest factor to hold my attention for very long. <6>

That is interesting. I little different twist. Sharp photography, but lacking any true highlights. Looks as if the photo was taken on a gloomy day with now additional lighting. I do like the sharp focus, and the use of DOF to blow out the background. <6>

Nice image, but I'm not sure it stirs as much interest as many of the other images in this challenge. I am a fan of the black background, but this may be too much. Maybe had we been able to see half of the apple without the lower shadow on the left side of the apple, it would have been a more interesting image. <5>
