There is something about the processing that puts a distance between the viewer and the subjects. Maybe too much USM with a high radius? It gives the shots a painterly quality. I do like the colors very much.

The square crop does not help this image. My eye wanders around and keeps settling on the bright area that is the person in the rear on the left. It appears that you wanted to freeze the action of the players, but many elements show motion blur. I would suggest making things sharp or very blurry to show intent in the image.
