The expression on his faces makes this shot. yes, maybe the eyes are too dark but still there is detail in them. Nice capture I think.

I like the DOF on this image it makes it more interesting and takes the attention to your subject. Only thing, she looks a bit soft IMO.

If you are using PS the highlight/shadow adjustment will bring out even more detail. Some dodging and burning will give more texture to the sky.

Looks that this image might have an interesting story behind it.
