Having a hard time voting on this one. Are the colours complementary? Yes they are. Are they the focal point of the photograph? Nope. Would this be a poorer picture without the yellow and purple? Probably not. So ... still undecided.

I think that the red distracts from the effect of this picture. Something black / white / silver may have been better.
