Dog + Porcupine = One Unhappy Dog.

I don't have time to vote on this, sorry, but what a great picture! I wish I could have seen the porcupine! Was he naked?

Alternate title? Know when to give up!

Heh. Dogs are so dumb. Porcupines are neither a threat nor a source of food for a domesticated animal.

This is totally awesome. I was thinking about a feather too, but didn't think of using the water to magnify. I really have to do more experimenting!

Way to go with your A75. Proof positive that cameras are merely tools in the hands of masters.

Uhm. I hadn't seen this before. This is one of the best pictures I think I have ever seen. I actually like the fact that the other flake has been cut off a bit. It is ok. It keep the focus on the main attraction, but it's cool that it's conjoined.

This is simply amazing. You rock!

Wow. This is pretty close to a perfect shot. I was really surprised that this didn't get an 8+.

There is a bit of something about the starkness of the water droplets I don't like, but I would sooner put that down to JPG compression artifacting than I would the actual picture. I would bet that in the original, the spray is sharp enough to cut your finger on.

It really disappoints me that someone can post a picture that appears to have a little less post processing than others and have people who love the creativity of the shot, but voting it down for things that are so stupid as the choice of shorts on the subject. Like he is really going to wade out there with a pair of bright yellow tighties and tell the guy to change up and improve the bleeding contrast!

There are two types of creativity when shooting. The creativity in setting up a shot, and the creativity in using the camera. This shows creativity in using the camera in spades.

Good on ya!

(PS, I realize this is not the place for commenting on others comments, but I felt it ought to be said)

Don't be so hard on yourself. I found her picture to be lacking in a few areas too. It was good, but I really like yours quite a bit too.

Nice interpretation.

Absolutely stunning! And hilarious!

I felt a bit funny about the background though, not sure what it was.

I'd love to know what it is that you bribed that fly with to make him flap his wings and pose so nicely for you to let that flash light his face so pleasantly.

Mind Boggling. I agree that this really should have blown away the competition. I also feel that the top three were pretty average shots. I would have said Blueberries, this then the Warrior wasp.

Awesome shot. I wasnt' able to vote on it, but if I had, this would have been my pick for the blue. I have always loved the coloring of fresh blueberries. The surface you placed them on is excellent as well. The lighting is soft and beautiful. I wonder how much post processing you did. Truly outstanding.

I love the massiveness of the berries. It reminds me of back home...

A big smack in the face to the one guy who rated this a 3.

I am glad to see that this picture unlike some got no 1, 2 or 3 votes. Impressive enough to wow even the trolls!

Easily impressive enough to wow me!
