attack positionby JohannesFrankComment: There are a few blown out highlights on the bird and in my opninion just a little too much contrast wich makes the colours a bit odd but good DOF and composition. |

Red-throated Loon with lunchby jakobsComment: Wow! Pretty amazing capture, nice moment there and I love the frozen moment in time feel of it. I would have given it a 10 but I feel it´s composed a bit too tight towards the right side, I would have wanted to see the whole splash but I gave it a 9 and I don´t give out many of those. Love the sharpness and clarity of it. |

WWI Birdby EricSorenWComment: I never give out 1 unless I explain why. First of all, this is way off topic and I have never given a shot I percieve to be off topic a higher grade than 4. secondly this isn´t anything spectacular, it´s just a so so shot of a silhouette of an airplane. The sky isn´t very interesting, the composition is dead centered and well frankly if this were an airplane challenge I would have given it a 3 or a 4. I just don´t find this interesting at all.
Sorry for the rant, but I figured you deserved an explanation as to why I gave it a 1. |

Phalaropus lobatus (Red-necked Phalarope)by andriComment: Very nice, one of my favorites in the challenge, very sharp and good DOF. Like the composition and colours and the reflection is very good. Only to nitpick though, the straws in the bottom are pretty distracting but nevertheless, I gave this a 7. |

Watchfulby andrimComment: Not bad, IMHO slightly overexposed and the foilage in the lower right corner is in the way, if only you could have moved to the left and it would have been much better. Excellent sharpness though and good colours. |

Welcome to Piccadilly.by AndrewTOComment: Not bad, but the backround is too distracting for my taste, I would like it more if you had more backround blur. Like the compostion though. |

Bottoms Upby ArtanComment: Well I am completely torn with this image. On one hand it´s both underexposed and overexposed, it´s very dark in most places and then you blow out the highlights of all three birds (flamingos?) and normally that just completely ruins a shot for me. On the other hand the composition and moment you captured are very interesting so I don´t really know what to give you. Ended up putting a 5 on this as I am completely torn. If this shot would have had a higher dynamic range I would have given it a 8 or even a 9, even though it´s pretty obviously a zoo shot. |

On Wings of Furyby IvoComment: Not bad at all but the bokeh is really distracting and doesn´t do anything positive for the shot. Nice clarity of the bird though and I like the slight movement of the feathers. |

Playful Messengersby SondaComment: Technically this photo isn´t very special but it more than makes up for it by you taking it at the exact correct moment, good job! |
