innocence in the eyes of povertyby olhaldoComment: You`ve captured my perception of poverty; seemingly neglected yet oblivious with a piercing glare. I get a feeling of choice between recognising versus ignoring needs before us. The reflection on the wall increases interest. The bright clean junk food bag contrasts with the shaby clothes and the need to alter priorities. Should we create the best chip ever or care for our young? Ten |

nuclear weapon can give us all powertyby MonaComment: What a great nuclear explosion cloud. I appreciated the building lines. Mostly I loved the window frame with the lighting within. After voting for 15 minutes, I am having trouble defining for myself and understanding what others see as poverty. I will surprise myself by voting a 10 this time around. 7 for your anti-powerty slogan. |

Pennilessby scalvertComment: I loved the symbolism of poverty wearing used clothing. Your depiction of a hand pinching an empty pocket had me thinking criminal pick pocket as a survival course of action. The substance on the hands adds character and the dark background enhances the shapes and focus on the various items. I found the insects distracting . The black background made me think that this was a created art photo. The hand was my favorite part of the photo. Thanks. |

Homework Daydreamerby whatdewucComment: Forget the falling asleep shots. Here is where the imagination collides with the three R's. This is where schooling ends and thinking independently begins. Is this visual boredom or vigourous math calculations or even the creative genius about to invent atomic hydrogen fuel? I just love everything about this shot. No contest 10 times thanks. |

Exam day - Focusby nico_blueComment: Love the crisp stillness of the main subject with the swirling bystanders movements. Nice primairy colors brighten otherwise dull beige background. Did not like brightness of upper right but enjoyed the contrast, the shadow play and the very bright blue teapot-yo-yo shape on the back pack. Thanks for your 10 |

Still Studying at 69by chookieComment: It is never too late to learn. You can teach an old dog new tricks. Subject seems very relaxed. Are you sure he hasn't been reading too much of the wine book in the upper right shelve? Very busy but nice photo for family type album. Thanks. |

Late Night Studyby DiscraftComment: My previous vote was also a sleeper but yours got an extra point for angle choice, better use of light and shadow, the out of place plate with mysterious items and of course the earing. I believe the choice of black and white helps keep the photo from being too busy. Niner fine by me. |

A typical day in high school...by cwalmyeComment: I'm begining to think that education is an exercise in relaxation or a brain draining event. I guess there is no replacing early to bed and rise, good food and exercise. I love the combination of whites and darks between papers, sweater and sunlight vs vest hair + shadow and background furniture. Good 8 mate. |
