House Abandonedby clickodakComment: what's the subject? the building? the door and window frames? i'm not quite sure what you want me to look at, to see. |

Sanctuaryby wbanningComment: i'm sure there's a story here, somewhere, but it's not reaching me. maybe if you had used one of those deteriorating arches to frame the church? as is, your horizon is splitting the image and there is no strong subject in either half. |

Old soldiers never die, they just fade awayby mluComment: excellent opportunity killed by post-production. the eye-level documentation also doesn't make for a very interesting image. maybe try other perspectives.
these are by no means perfect, but take a look to get an idea as to what i'm talking about. retired monster |

Once a homeby AmmieComment: lots of opportunity here, but i'm not a fan of the processing or the blown sky. maybe a different perspective would have yielded a more dynamic image? |

a ladder by TiberiusComment: i think your composition is off. when i see the image, i'm not sure what the subject is. then i see the ladder, almost as if it's an afterthought - but your title would suggest it's the subject. the high contrast is a bit off-putting - too bright in the sun, too dark in the shadows. |

Romeo Pierby Les_FeckComment: so much potential here, but the image quality is killing it for me. can't tell if it's on purpose, or just the result of too much cropping. not a fan of the composition or perspective: not sure what you really want me to look at or to see. i mean, yes, it's an abandoned building, but so what? |

Once Upon a Time by JudiComment: bam! nailed it!
if i could suggest anything, it would to have been to try a slightly elevated perspective to pick up more water and less sky (because those clouds come through in the reflection). you would also get more of a sense of the distant horizon, thus furthering the narrative of being lost in the middle of nowhere.
all the same, i'll be shocked if this doesn't wind up near the top. |

The Well Driller's Truck by NikonJebComment: awesome find! i probably would have brought out just a bit more detail in the shadows, but that's just me. hope it's not too subtle for the voters (it took me more than a moment to grasp what i was seeing). |

Pasture Parking Lotby patchesComment: excellent find, but i'm not a fan of the post-processing. and there may well have been some more compelling compositions with those subjects.
