| 07/06/2012 06:27:54 AM | The first 3 minutes of life by JulietNNComment: One of my favorite type of newspaper assignments is to capture "wild art", which is defined as "Stand-Alone, Feature Shot, Enterprise art are found moments that are intended to be realistic slices of everyday life" (definition taken from this glossary). These are typically images that caption themselves, not needing a lot of words to get their point across. For this challenge, I'm scoring images as whether I'd like to see them on the front page of a paper as feel good wild art. If I don't think they would make the paper, I'm then asking myself, "does it make me feel good?" If it doesn't do much for me, well then, oh well...
Hands down, here's the winner. | Photographer found comment helpful. |

Sorry, but this just doesn't do anything for me. I don't like the processing. I'm sure this is a cute dog, but there's no "feel good" buzz about the image. If a dog or cat is shy, just be patient...sooner or later they all yawn or stick out their tongues. | Photographer found comment helpful. |

Cute, and on topic. What's not to feel good here? | Photographer found comment helpful. |

Nice idea, but the processing kills it for me. I get an idea of what's going on, but no connectivity with it. | Photographer found comment helpful. |

I'm sure there's a picture there somewhere, but the processing kills it for me. As I can't really make out what she's got in her hands, I can't really connect with her moment, which leaves me out. Without any connection, there's nothing to give me any "feel good". | Photographer found comment helpful. |

While this is a nice photo and a nice sentiment, it's not moving my "feel good" needle. Yes, there are things about this idea that I should feel good about, but there's more of an air of sadness than gladness, don't you think? | Photographer found comment helpful. |

Interesting image, but not really moving my "feel good" needle. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
