This is a tough challenge to vote. I'm torn between "what are you trying to do here" and "what do I expect here". Further complicating matters is the question "what would I do here".

What I would expect would be a technically strong piece of eye-candy that would present the dessert in a way that I would want to at least sample it, if not order it. Along these lines I'm looking at technicals: backgrounds, distracting elements, exposure, sharpness. I'm also looking for creativity, imagination, and originality, which can make up for less than perfect technicals.

So, where does this leave me with your image?

While this is one of my top ten for the challenge, I think it could use a little work. It's a little too contrasty, leaving me feeling a sense of imbalance between the darker and lighter sides. I am fine with the DoF, but the lack of detail caused by the over-exposure on the left takes away from my overall impression. Maybe a little less light on the left and some slight fill on the right would have balanced it out.

Excellent work! Not only perfect on the technicals, it makes me want to sit down and ask for a fork. The rich detail, the composition - I can't say enough. I really love how light and airy this feels.

Absolutely divine! This would make a great piece of wall art. If possible, you should do a series, at least two more. Then you could license them to the people that sell frame wall art pieces at places like Bed, Bath & Beyond.

One of the best! Excellent composition, exposure, and color palette. Great details in the shadows. Luscious! I'll take a carton, please!!
