Faster than a Speeding Dolphinby dwterryComment: Could have worked equally well in the challenge on stopping motion. Really neat image. Focus and composition are great. Don't know what you did regarding tone, but the toning in this image really lends itself to the depiction of the human being arrested right in the middle, too. Man isn't it neat how that water just hangs there? Love the image. Good luck in the challenge. |

Making The Outfield Planby LittleGreenKatComment: This is a really nice composition. Love the huge "canvas" of grass with the three little figures at the bottom. Wish there was a little more focus on the players though. Good luck with the challenge. |

David vs. Goliathby jammer112Comment: Needs just a tad more DOF. Seems to have really captured the moment and the contrasts between the stark white goal netting and the absolute black sky behind is great. Would have rated it higher except for the DOF point. Congratulations. Good luck with the challenge. |

Waterball!by EddyGComment: I don't understand ... These firemen have "Girlie legs"? :-) Actually, I really like the image. It has bright color contrasts, action, perspective, pretty good focus - at least on the central area of interest, and I really like how everything gets hazier as you move back further into the image (obviously due to the mist and spray in the air). And, it's different than everything else. Congratulations and good luck in the challenge. |

Tokeby peeteComment: Two images, this one and "Bong Hit", are both similar in that the subject, "smoke", is inside. Both, to me, have the same shortcoming: the smoke is very much reduced to a lesser subject position by their container - and to me, the main subject should be "smoke" in order to make it more effective as a "smoke" entry. But, that's just my way of looking at it. Good luck in the challenge. |

mmmmmm...barbqueby DarkRiderComment: We can only hope they burn each other up and can't show up in future challenges! :-) Just kidding. The could, as with "Mirrors", be in a really great image. Problem with this image (other than "them") is that it's about them and the sight gag, not about smoke - even though it exists. I rated lots of other people lower for the same reason. Good luck with the challenge. |

The Proverbial Smoking Gunby LittleGreenKatComment: Comparatively little smoke, and not very esthetically pleasing to me. Understand the word tie in, but that's not what makes an image really attractive. Good luck with the challenge. |

Escapeby smokeditorComment: When I was a little kid, I used to watch smoke from my Dad's cigarettes. This reminds me of it. (I'm surprised that no one took photos of someone blowing smoke circles.) Anyway, your image is very pretty with the blues and whites against the black background - all nicely composed and focused. Congratulations and good luck with the image. |
