The subject is good, but the composition, crop, and framing are all off. This shot looks more like something that an insurance adjuster would take rather than a photographer.

Nice photo...I like the green on red and the detail of the wall and window.

I don't mind the subject, but I do mind the composition. Perhaps some different perspective could have intensified the image.

Nine Is Too Many If They're All This Boring (A Day in the Second Life of a Spoiled Cat)
by Catbird

Comment:
I think this is Catbird's image - either way. I think there is too much dead space in this image...why couldn't the clock be closer to the cat? Also, there are image quality issues. It's hard to tell what the objects around the cat are supposed to be (I know that what the objects are doesn't really matter, but that can be distracting, all the same - it looks like a bunny, a tree and either some poop or a mouse, one). Of course this image was staged - it would have to be, and that's no big deal. The danger of staging is that when it's just slightly off, it shows quite explicitly.

Too bad you couldn't get a shot of one of those hen-pecked husbands sitting drearily on a bench with many overfilled shopping bags all around him, just waiting for his wife to finish shopping while trying to stay awake. The kid seems interested in the rides, not necessarily bored. Also, the camera doesn't seem focused on either the child or the rides.

Why would this shot convey boredom? Don't get me wrong - technically this shot is superb, and if entered in a wildlife challenge, it would do well.

Why would this shot convey boredom? If seen outside the challenge and without the title, would people think of boredom?

Next time try a different angle or perspective. There isn't much to look at in this shot...nowhere for the eye to rest. I understand what you are trying to convey but would not have picked up on the idea had I seen this photo outside of the bounds of the challenge and without the title.
