IMG_0378ds.jpgby ProwlerComment: Nice capture and the subject is placed nicely within the frame. I don't know about the background desaturation. I know it brings out the rider and bike but looks like you lost some tone within the subject, especially reds. |

Icy Chasm by StrikeslipComment: Amazing- What an awesome scene. I didn't get to vote on the complete challenge because of personal obligations but I wish I would had been able to. This would of received another 10. Very impressed with the B&W process, so much detail and range. This has to go into my fav's.
Very nice work. IMO probably one of the best B&W photos I have viewed to date.
Congrats

Silhouetteby VenomComment: I like the focus point on the tree with the sky slightly OOF. Nicely Done. |

Full moonby VenomComment: Did you shoot in raw or jpg?
If jpg your camera setting could cause the white ring (camera sharpening)
What type of sharpening did you use when editing? and did you change the mode during sharpening.
I find that sharpening the following way helps out moon shots
18/40/0 (darken)
150/.03/0 (darken)
150/.03/0 (darken) 50% Occupancy
After resizing for web
150/.03/0 (darken if necessary if not, normal)
Note: This is in Raw format. If taken in jpg then the sharpening would be less but I would still use the darken mode to drop the bright edges that occur during sharpening.

Sorrento Falls 2.jpgby jbpk11Comment: I like the colored version better. Mainly because the color adds more interest because IMO your photo is cropped to tight. It feels boxed in without having more of the landscape surrounding the waterfall and rocks to give a better perspective. With that said the texture [moss] and leaves on the rocks adds a nice touch along with the flowing water.
Hope this helps
