Bishop Hooper's Monumentby mexicoComment: Nice and sharp. The lighting is a little harsh but that's the way it goes with spotlights. Perhaps a more creative composition would help too? There's a little bit of a snapshot feeling to the composition if you know what I mean, sort of a "put the subject in the center and shoot" feeling, that--usually--results in an accurate reproduction of the subject but doesn't let the photographer share his or her creative interpretation of the subject. I usually try to take lots of angle of a subject like this: close up, far away, off-center, centered, from below, from the side, focus in on part of the subject (face? ornate stonework?) to show the viewer something they wouldn't normally see when they look at it. Just some thoughts on how you might be able to take an average scene and make a work of art out of it. :) |

Light Fantasticby p2jvrComment: Very nice scene, but the photo is a bit too grainy and not particularly sharp, which distracts me from the beauty of the scene. |

Statues by Nightby ecdillonComment: Very pretty! I love the angle you took the shot from. The lighting is great, the colors are nice, good sharpness. However, I might prefer it a little darker overall, to preserve the "Late Night" feeling: the sky just seems a little too bright. Still a great image. |

Nuit Américaineby jjbeguinComment: Interesting, I like the textures and the high contrast. Maybe cropping off the bottom 1/4 to 1/3 of the image would make it feel more balanced, all the blackness seems too much there. Original and creative. |

First Parish Meeting House - 1773by dunamisComment: The subject is nice, but the lighting is a bit too harsh perhaps, losing detail in the front of the building and still being too dark up on the tower. Too bad the lights were so bright. |

An Evening by the Pool by ArtanComment: Gorgeous! One of the most beautiful images I've seen in a while. I would love to have a print of this framed on my wall. |

He Plays with Spiritsby clarmoreComment: Took me a minute to figure out what this is and how it was done. Very clever!! Really spooky and very cool. Extremely original! One of the best. |

County Courthouseby BudComment: I love the courthouse, but to be honest, the cars detract from the image a bit. They distract from the subject, I guess, and don't fit in with the ornate stone theme. Also there's quite a bit of noise in the sky. But I really like the courthouse, did I say that? ;) |
