The Flip Flop: From a Toe's Point of Viewby nikon_girlComment: Awesome viewpoint! Very original. Good composition: nice background, but DOF blurs it so it's not distracting. The leaves on the left might be a tiny bit bright, distracting a little from the main subject, but it's not much. Oh, cute flip flops, by the way. 8-) |

Formal Balance Fountainby annasenseComment: I like the composition a lot. I don't know why it's so blurry though. Part of it is probably that the JPEG compression is too high. The image is about 50KB, while you can use up to 150KB for your image. If you raise the quality setting when you save to the JPEG file, there will be much less loss of quality.
This is a very difficult scene to capture properly, though. The contrast between the bright fountain in the sunlight and the dark trunks of the trees means you'll have sacrifice either the dark areas or the bright areas to the hungry demon of lost details. You can use the exposure compensation feature of your camera to reduce the exposure and make the fountain more clearly exposed.
You have a good eye for composition! Practice, practice, practice! 8-) |

Common Wine Glassby DCThiessenComment: Oooh!!! This makes me go wow! Love the colors and the refractions in the glass.
Hmm, some ugly artifacts upon closer inspection, though. Just above the water line in the glass, there is a rough edge, where some touch-up painting has apparently occurred; it's especially noticable on the right side of the water line. I could be wrong, but those sure look like a messy Photoshop job, too ragged to be part of the otherwise extremely fluid composition. |

Groundedby welcherComment: Wow, this is beautiful. I love how you can see the window and the outdoors in the reflection. Also, the crop is great how the eyelashes just fade out to the edges. Why didn't I think of photographing an eye?! Anyway, this is fabulous. 9 |

Blue Moon, you saw me standing alone...by graphicfunkComment: Wow, only the second picture I've seen and I'm already sure we have a winner, or at least a top ten. This is gorgeous. The cute moon is a great little touch. Is it some kind of painting? Too bad his upper back is just slightly cut off :-( . Still, this is a 10. |

Wild Blue Yonder by kirbicComment: Nice, super sharp capture. Great placement of the planes within the frame. Nice contrast between the bright whites & reds and the blue sky. Only, too bad the top of the wings are in the shade, it dulls the nice reds a bit. |

Daily torture!by procyonComment: Very professional, very well done. Nice touches with the pencil marks and such on the surface, and the lip mark. Nice even lighting, though a little more light from the front would help, making particularly the darkish CG SMOOTHERS bottle a little more well defined. Also, it's a tiny bit blurry, probably from overcompression, (it's ~60KB, don't forget you have 150KB you can use!). 8. |

Energyby ArnarpComment: Nice pic, but I don't count 'energy' as an object. The general definition (consulting some dictionaries) seems to be "object:" "A material thing", or "a thing that can cast a shadow". |

Cheese eating mouseby FraysieComment: LOL! That's pretty cool. Nice idea. Good lighting too, except that the cheese is a little bright in places making it harder to visibly separate from the background.
That looks like a MS Intellimouse Explorer 4.0. I've owned every Intellimouse Explorer model since the beginning, but I hated my 4.0 model and just switched to Logitech's new MX510, which works much better with games (button integration, ability to pick up and move the mouse). I will admit that the new Intellimouse does have improved resolution relative to the old models, though. But I digress. ;-) |

How many remotes do we need?by skiefComment: I really like the lighting here. It must be from several light sources? The seamless background is very nice too. How was it done? |
