Man's Last Friendby byshenComment: Although this appears to be staged, it is a powerful image nonetheless. The dog is stoically by her master's side, for better or for worse. Excellently composed.
One suggestion for improvement. Care should be taken not to over sharpen as there are significant artifacts in the blades of the grass as well as the sign as a result of extreme edge sharpening. |

Shadow Playby KaDiComment: First off, I think this photo is one of the most creative of the bunch. How can it be improved? If the feline was looking to her right, as if interacting with the shadow. |

Where Have You Been?by artvetComment: High key exposure tastefully executed. Good tonal range. I like the expression on the dog and it's quite fitting with the title. Well done. |

Cat welcomes ownerby LastgudComment: with claws extended? Ouch! Well framed and interesting angle. Tad bit overexposed. Adequate sharpness but could be sharper. Overall the colors could be tweaked to tone down the redness of the face and overall warm cast cooled off a bit. |

The Kissby jjr152Comment: I think the lighting choice here works very well, and the B&W approach is quite appropriate. There appears to be some grain in this image, which does not detract enough to be an issue. This image could have been improved with a boost in shadow levels but given the amount of grain, I can understand your choice in leaving the exposure levels where they are. Overall well executed. |

TOGETHERNESSby kiwinickComment: Eyes are very expressive here. Well matched in both subjects, which is what I feel you were trying to achieve here. Technical aspects beyond reproach. Well framed, overall excellent! |

In our matching sweatersby ladpupmoeComment: Just a tad bit overexposed in the fur but does not detract from the beauty of this image. I think the B&W approach is well suited here. |
