The extreme lack of focus here makes this unfathomable. I do see light but do not know what you found interesting with this subject. Not sure what you had in mind here but it didn't work for me. This is why I gave you a 3 rating.

Beautiful Gaze by Window Light

This is a beautiful portrait and the lighting is just right. Still to me it does not fit the theme of the challenge. As in all photographs light is part of the image but I don't find that light itself is a subject in this image. I'm still giving it a 6 because I like it so much but would have given a higher rating if I felt it fit the challenge.

This is an interesting idea and a striking pattern of light and shape. What doesn't work for me is that so little of it is in focus. This same image in sharp focus would be dynamite.

A Little More Light on the Subject

I like the graphic quality of this image. I really like the two shafts of colored light on either side of the glass. The neutral gray tone of the glass does not work well for me. It seems a bit dull to me. I think a bit of dodging of the glass to lighten its color would have made this interesting image even better.

I love this however I don't think it fits the theme. Yes the light on the corn is special but I still don't see that light is the subject of this image any more than it always is in a photograph. I'm giving this a 6 because it is a fine photograph with an elegant richness in color.

Light and Shadows

Nice combination of daylight and indoor lighting. The shadow of the cross makes it fit the topic by calling attention to the lighting. Beautiful.

There is something about this that keeps me coming back to take a look. The composition is part of it. How her eye glosw is part. The odd subdued light is part. The feeling of mystery helps too.

What really works for me about this is the almost colorless room with the colorful chair and outdoor scene. To me it just barely fits the theme but it does, mostly because of the reflections from the window light on the roof. I really love the composition here.
