The Pink Lookby DiscraftComment: Pretty cool shot, interesting composition to look at. The light from underneath adds an interesting glow. I might have done a tighter crop on the model, just a tad right of the shadow on here neck. A tighter crop would force the viewer back towards the rose. By having negative space between the two subjects the observer scans back and forth between the rose and the model. At least for me the brightness of the models shirt keeps drawing me in that directing taking away from the story that you are telling in the shot. I think eliminating (cropping) a good portion of that lit area would create a better balance and create less competition for the rose. |

Contentmentby shavenwalrusComment: Nice cute picture. For me there just seems to be too much white making the skin tones (pink) a very small part of the composition. I might have have done a 5x7 crop (vertically) and omitted the bed railing that is just a tad bit distracting. Still a very calm, peaceful photo. |

Be Mineby MarkComment: Actually a quite interesting shot. You captured some interesting shapes and patterns within the bubble. This being an advanced challenge I might have rotated the picture 180 degrees to show what looks like heart shapes within the bubble. As the picture is I might have done a tighter crop on the bottom, and exposed a little more of that long stringy part on top. |

Echiumby ZippyComment: On this one I think I might have got a little closer to bring out the pink bud, macro of just the bud and that first set of leaves around it. The crop that you have is very good for a floral shot, nice boke, subject off center...for this pink challenge for me there is too much going on around the edges of the shot. Even thought the background leaves are out of focus the white tips of the leaves grab my attention and draw me away from your pink subject. This is a very nice composition, but for this challenge I think it would do better if closer to where the bud dominated the picture. Just my thoughts. |

Pink Noiseby mrmorrisComment: The concept is right, but I would have somehow went the other direction with the dof. The Antenna takes the stage here and the "pink" radio takes backseat. I like the colors that you have captured in this shot. Cool concept and title. |

Soon to become Hot Pinkby RulerZigzagComment: Interesting Idea...Lighting seems a little harsh. If I was to shoot this I might have tried a different angle. Crouch down around the bottom right of the cutting board and shoot across the subject. Show a little more thickness of the meat and the cutting board. This might have cut down on the glare in that hot spot in the middle and added some depth to the presentation. |

Caught Up by arnitComment: Awsome, lighting and tones perfect, placement of subject great, I like the square crop and negative space, and the board adds to the presentation. You got the total package here...My top pick. |

Pink Roseby ladpupmoeComment: Excellent shot, ligthing is very good. I like this one a lot. The only thing that I might have done would have been to straighten the pic to where the vase stem and that line light/dark (wall behind the blind on right) were Straight up and down (perpendicular to the bottom edge of photo). The shadows would retain the effect (perspective) and the vase would not appear to fall over at any moment. Nice work. |

hawk1.jpgby Jeff OComment: A very nice shot Jeff. As butterflysis pointed out great boke and dof. Colors and sharpness set a beautiful feel.
Here come the druthers (IMO)... Technically a very good crop leaving open space in the direction the hawk is looking...however that open area is quite busy here. The branches in focus all going in several directions create a pattern that draws my eye to that area. At the very least I would clone out the very dark twig that is pointing straight up from lead branch, I might also clone or blur that "naked" twig that is just to the left of the hawks mid section. Ultimately if all that remained in that open space was the main branch the thick branch jutting up to the left, I feel my attention would be directed back to the hawk. An 8x10 crop with the hawk in the right 2/3s might help remove some of the distractions on the left as well.
Just me but I would like to see a tad bit more light in the area of the eye to bring out a little more detail.
Great shot with excellent sharpness and clarity. |

Chocolateby ArcanistComment: Three disticnt sides of the canister, Title does not coach the viewer in the direction of 3. I like it, but you are going to get hammered for this one. This is a thinking person's piece. Don't take it to heart because technically this is a very good shot. The only thing I might have done is to crop a tad bit more from the right, thinking (in thirds rule) 2/3's canister and remaining 1/3 negative space. Leaving the tight crop on the left. |
