There's too many additional distractions. You have a strong subject here, so you don't want anything competing with it.

The highlight on the front of the mailbox washed out detail. There's just too much contrast between high and low lights to be able to pull out the detail you need here.

I think you might have misspelled your title. With a shot like this, I have difficulty with the legs being so out of focus. It really needs more depth of field to work.
