Mango margarita studyby nomad469Comment: This just seems too blurred... I don't know if it is lack of focus or motion blur. Maybe a tiny bit of USM combined with an increase in contrast would fix it up. I also wonder if the color version might have been better. |

Blue-eyed Darner (Aeshna multicolor)by vtruanComment: What I wanna know is ... how do you hold him still long enough to get the eyes and body in focus while the wings are buzzing like that?!?!?!?!? Nice shot. Good luck! |

stepping stonesby nbortonComment: Very nice! I've wanted to try one of those lensbabies ... I'm just afraid I'll look like a total geek walking around with a 20D and a lensbaby on. How do you deal with that?!? :-)

Three in One Macro by FalcComment: Nice... the angled line across the image with the ladybug on it would have been enough. But then to throw an interesting OOF, but still recognizable, background into the image is a great idea. And then to focus the OOF background through then "lens" of a drop of water... killer idea! My only complaint is that I was hoping for a little more close-up (closer to macro's 1:1 sizing). Still, I love this image and hope to see it place high! Good luck!
Returning to say my pick for top 3. |

Small Grasshopperby dsa157Comment: For me,it would have worked better if the hopper was facing a little more towards the camera (less of a side view) and then get the head in perfect focus (including the moth). As it is, it is kind of cool that one antenna is in focus and the other is not, and the focus along the body seems good. Like the colors. Good luck. |
