A Bridge Too Closeby meyersComment: Nice job Rob. I immediately pegged this as either you or Maya. Congrats on a great finish! |

m e t a l i c aby hotpastaComment: I like it. The stark processing gives it a very surreal appearance, almost like a scene out of Matrix. I'm sure you'll get loads of criticism about the haloing but screw the naysayers, this is a GREAT shot. One niggle, there appear to be resizing artifacts on the straight lines of the wings and tail. Otherwise, flawless. |

The Winner takes all by geewhyComment: Outstanding capture. Not only the look of elation and triumph on the victors, but the dejected look on the guy's face on the ground. Priceless! |

Serenityby SamDoe1Comment: A nice capture - my astronomer's heart is with you - but too dark overall. I want to believe that you could have pulled more out of this in post processing, but I don't know what your raw image was like. You've got three elements to work with, which is two more than most astrophotographers start with: sky, aurora, and foreground. You've got to find a way to really punch one or more of those - detail and some color in the foreground, boosting the contrast and brightness of the aurora, etc. Elinias' shot is an example:
I'll be back to see who shot this and ponder the details after the challenge ends. |

High, Dry and Abandonedby killjoy181Comment: Wow, the set of Gilligan's Island has really gone to hell! On a more serious note, I think this image doesn't live up to its potential for two reasons: First, the composition is too centered and static. No drama, tension or dynamic at all. Second, the BW conversion leaves it very flat and lacking in contrast. Everything is either very white (boat) or very dark and shadowy (everything else). It really needs some tonal range. |

Wrath from aboveby shalrathComment: Awesome capture. The result is a nearly perfect lightning composition. Tremendously well done! |
