Paradise Parkby BobsterLobsterComment: This is a beautiful photo with excellent color and composition. I love the use of the black background to draw attention to the bird's bright colors. Really nice job. |

Summer is the best time to visit Seattleby cabaComment: Very nice vantage point and a beautiful photo. My personal preference would be to lower the horizon a bit to put the Space Needle right on the top left third line. The only other thing I notice is that the mountain looks a bit odd, either from haze or overprocessing. Still, this is a really nice photo - one of the best in the challenge. |

See the Grand Canyon By Airby flip89Comment: This looks like it was a fun trip! I usually avoid noontime shots, but I think that might have been a better time for this photo since the shadows are so dark. I also think this shot might benefit from a bit more contrast to really highlight the colorful striations. Still, this is a really nice photo and a great memento from your vacation. :-) |

Carlsbad Cavernsby drgsoellComment: This is a beautiful subject to photograph, but I think the shot came out a bit dark. That's hard to fix under basic editing rules since the light parts of shot are already bright enough, but you can play with the dark areas when the challenge is over. For this challenge, maybe a little lightening would help and a tighter crop would cut out some of the dark sections. Hope you enjoyed your trip! :-) |

Mississippi Queensby sherComment: Having grown up in New Orleans, I have a natural affinity for shots like this. ;-) For some reason, though it seems to be a bright day, the colors came out a little bit bland. You might want to increase contrast a bit in curves or just play with the saturation to see if the blues and reds can come out looking a bit more like they really did that day. Still, this is a nicely composed shot and I think the white matte adds a nice touch. |
