At first when I looked at this I thought the all white background was pretty cool, then as I looked a little longer, I thought maybe it was just too much, then I looked longer and thought maybe it worked, then.... anyway, since I found it so compelling to look at, decided it was very good and...confused? hehehe :-) I am.
Anyway, yes, thought provoking and well done. I like it in the end. A great photo should make you want to look at it for whatever reasons.

I like the placement of the clock hands in the corner and the blue line/shadow makes a nice line, but I think the snap-on logo takes away from the shot. I would try cropping it out, maybe include just a touch more of the top.

colors all kind of run together, nothing really stands out. the whole shot seems "busy". this and the lighting/shadows , i almost missed the axe all together.
