Sands of Timeby TelehubbieComment: Beautiful composition. Perhaps relies a bit heavily on the title to fit within the contest subject, but artistically the image has real merit. |

Forgottenby AV4TArComment: The tipped horizon in this image is unusual. I found it a bit disconcerting. Perhaps there is som other angle from which you could have framed this interesting "old" subject! |

Blacksmith Shopby dale99Comment: This is a very interesting looking subject, but your photo seems a bit cluttered, is a little tipped, and also looks a bit soft. |

Swiss Hideawayby NeilComment: Neil,
I think this looks a bit flat, mostly because of the fact that you have the brighter areas of snow set at too low a level. I think it gets more "pop" if you try either of these:
(1) Using your b/w version, add a Levels adjustment layer an try input level settings of 0, .73, 238
OR, which I like even better:
(2) using your color version, use a Channel Mixer adjustment layer and try settings of red: +170, green: +80, blue: -150
and a Levels adjustment layer with input level settings:
0, 1.0, 236
This latter version creates a more dramatic contrast between the
white peak and the sky at the horizon just above the house.

Cupids Aimby JudiComment: This was one of my favorites. Great job! My only suggestion would have been to avoid having the main subject toward the right side of the image instead of dead center since he is facing left. |
