Solitary Singerby mocabelaComment: The lower lines pull my attention from the subject; croping just above them allows my attention to remain focussed. I like the tones a lot. |

In My Placeby arnitComment: I get a very strong feeling of rapid motion. Very stiking image. |

Desert Sunriseby ArtifactsComment: The cactus is just distracting to me. A tighter crop around the bush (?) makes for a much more dramatic image, in my opinion. Very nice effects with the lighing. |

The Spirit of Texasby WebHornComment: Nicely captured. The rifle crossing the flag mast is distracting, as are the black shadows across the building (but what are you going to do? no effect on voting). |

Webster Lightsby cbellerComment: Would you believe it is too dark? :D Seriously, there is too much black for that little light. A tighter crop would have helped drastically. |

Where Art Thou, O Romeo?by RoosterComment: I think the backlight would have worked better if at a higher level (behind her head?)-- as it is my attention is drawn away from her and to the feet. in portraits I prefer my attention to be drawn to the face, particularly the eyes. While this is not strictly a portrait, I would still like to have my eyes drawn to her head. I am not sure what I think about the tilt -- maybe she made you dizzy walking into the room like that. :D |
