Nature's work of artby NonageComment: Nice abstract image. Way good enough to be in a stock photo collection. DOF must have been incredibly shallow. I think if the focus were sharper, especially on the left, I'd resonate with this more. |

Marchingby wwwavengerComment: The stark contrast between black and yellow makes an interesting abstract pattern. Nice use of negative space. But not enough to compete with the other bugs and flowers. Good attempt but tough tough competition. |

Snail kissby asijComment: Interesting idea but the stark white background without releif makes my teeth hurt. I wonder if a different aspect ratio where the subject fills more of the frame would have helped? |

Busy, busy, busyby willemComment: I'm getting pretty tired of bugs but this restores my confidence inthe genre. Great image due to colors, focus, and DOF. For me the diagonal comp really works. Nicely done! |

Pistol Powerby dwterryComment: Very good. Among the flowers, top 10 percentile. Color, comp, DOF and focus are great. Contrast and shadows give it nice depth. |

lashesby brunasComment: Nice focus on the subject. How'd you get the subject to stand still? Feels a little unbalanced to me ... |

Death Trapby nbortonComment: Just looked at another spider photo, similar size, subject, and comp. This is better because it has some nice shadowing to give a 3 dimensional feel to it. Good job. |

Dinnerby amsmythComment: Not your fault, but I'm getting buggy about bugs. This is a good photo but the spider seems flat. I don't see any shadowing that would give it 3 dimensionality. That would have raised the score for me. |

"Crabfeast"by cabaComment: Another bug hunt; Alien meets the Fly! (LOL) A good image technically (colors, focus, DOF, ...) but it doesn't seem to "pop." I think the fly's colors are so similar to the colors behind it, it blends in a bit. Middle of the pack among bug photos. |
