Scheduled Arrivalby OlyuziComment: Among my top picks in spite of feeling over sharpened in the foreground. I like that the mast of the sailboat is down. This adds to the sense of time passing. The nostalgic ferry does, too. Not sure whether the fog is real or derives of the mathematics of Gaussian blur, but the blur helps. I live in a part of the US where this is a common site which helps it feel especially pleasing to me. Well done. |

Rust In Pieceby dpakohComment: Very nice. First, I confess that I like macro shots very much. This is a great example. I like the way the bend in the rusting metal leads my eye through the picture. The diagonal comp does an effective job dividing the photo into two different zones ... the brighter and higher contrast half and the rustier, lower contrast lower half. Shallow DOF in the lower half exagerates this. Well done. Among my top picks. |

...only for a moment, and the moment's gone... by SammieComment: One of the few images that really captures the challenge theme. I like the subject, colors, levels, contrast, focus, DOF ... so in that sense it's virtually flawless. It's a little dark for my taste. But still among my top picks. |

Like Sands Through an Hourglassby TooCoolComment: Best of show in my opinion. Color, comp, focus, DOF, shutter speed are all superb. Even the border is okay and I usually hate borders. Hope it ribbons. |

A Split Secondby typologicComment: This is a WOW photo! But it is the complete anthisis of time passing. Rather it is the briefest of moments frozen in time. ++++ points for creativity, focus, color, DOF. ----- points for relevance to the challenge. |

Pyramids of Egyptby ramiComment: Very nice idea for the challenge. Composition is strong. Feels a bit over processed. I can't put my finger on it but it has to do with contrast, levels and focus I think. Or possibly the background is over blurred. Sorry, I wish I could be more specific. |

Darwin Fallsby GordonComment: I like this a lot. Seems like a pretty high degree of difficulty. It is probably an artifact of the long exposure that the surface of the water looks unreal ... surreal almost. Very interesting contrast between detail in the top of the photo and time smudged lack of detail in the bottom. Grass in lower left adds interesting counterpoint. Bumping the score. |

Another Day Gone As The Last Plane Come's Inby notonlineComment: I'm sorry but I just don't get it. It is an interesting city scape at night. Colors, contrast and levels are fine. Comp's okay. Great focus. But in the end I see no real relevance to theme and the title doesn't help me. |

Since I Was Lovedby riotspyneComment: I'm sorry but I just don't get it. It is an interesting study in texture. Colors, contrast and levels are fine. Comp's okay. Great focus. But in the end I see no real relevance to theme and the title doesn't help me. |
