Mom - The ULTIMATE Authorityby novaComment: Great expressions. It would be better without the harsh flash. Can you bounce the flash off the ceiling, or possibly boost ISO and shoot natural light? |

Penalty Timeby eaglebeckComment: I like it and gave it a good score. but if it were larger, I would have bumped it a point. |

Authority in Chessby setechaComment: Nice variation on a cliched theme. If it were me, I would raise the camera slightly to lower the board boundry inthe frame. I tend to like shallow DOF but I have learned DPC voters do not. A sharper focus and greater DOF would help, I think. |

dominationby coldaComment: Great comp, color, levels, saturation, focus and DOF ... not so sure about the title and implications. |

Rings of timeby Dim7Comment: This is possibly the best subject I can think of for the challenge. I would love to see a macro shot of the rings, possibly where they break into cracks and fissures in the wood. |

Passing Timeby sfarrell23Comment: Good idea. I like very much that your reversed Time Passing and took a "passing time" approach. ++ for creativity. I am generally a fan of shallow DOF but in this case it is too shallow for my taste. Just me, so don't worry about it. I am also a fan of color ("If God had wanted us to shoot B&W, he wouldn't have invented Kodachrome.") It would be interesting to see this in color. Good job. Keep it up! |

Architecture Past And Presentby GolferDDSComment: I like the Water Tower area of Chicago and this is among the best pictures I've seen of it. Great capture. I especially like the white areas to the right and at the top. They set off the subject well. The counter point of modern and old works well. Good job. |

Tender Momentsby crabappl3Comment: A startling image. I like that his body is hidden in shadow and the toddler is completely visible. The shallow DOF field contributes to this. Good job. Hope it does well inthe voting. Is he wearing a clerical collar? That would add a whole 'nother dimension to this in light of current news! |
